City of Scottsdale Public Safety Teen Academy
The application process for the Public Safety Teen Academy for 2010 is now open. Completed applications are due by April 26, 2010. Seats are limited, so apply early!
Academy Dates: June 7-11, 2010
Graduation: June 11, 2010

The Public Safety Teen Academy is conducted by the Scottsdale School Resource Unit under the command of Commander Johnny Cervantes.
The purpose of the Teen Academy is for teens ages 14-18 to have a better understanding between our young citizens and the police through education. It is also a chance for teens to see if they would like to pursue a career in law enforcement. A number of current Scottsdale Police Officers are successful graduates of prior Teen Academies. The Academy will create a growing nucleus of responsible, well informed young citizens with knowledge and understanding in regards to police practices and services.
The following are mandatory:
- Permission slip from parents to participate
- Background check
- Participation in physical fitness program
- Attendance the entire week
- Medical waiver
- Application
